Canon F1 | 50mm 1.8
The Canon F-1 is Canon's original professional 35mm SLR system: fully mechanical, built like a tank, and designed to be configured for almost any kind of shooting. If you want a fundamentals-first pro body with a clean manual workflow, this is the one.
Paired with the Canon FL 50mm f/1.8, you get a sharp, classic "normal" setup that's compact, fast, and easy to live on. The match-needle meter keeps exposure decisions simple while still giving you total control.
Every F-1 we sell is fully serviced and CLA'd by our in-house technicians, including a meter modification as needed. The meter circuit was originally designed around 1.3V mercury cells, which produce lower voltage than the batteries manufactured today and are no longer available. We modify the circuit to accept currently produced batteries and recalibrate it back into an accurate exposure range — so the meter reads correctly on a battery you can actually buy.
Shutter is fully mechanical: Bulb to 1/2000s. The F-1 body itself does not have a built-in hot shoe; flash is typically used via Canon flash couplers/adapters or PC sync.
